The United Way of Northern BC (UWNBC) is thrilled to announce the final results of the 2019 Tree of Lights! This campaign, a re-invigoration of a well-known Prince George holiday celebration, entailed the lighting of a 60-foot tree atop the Coast Prince George Hotel by APA as donations came in toward the initiative. This year, the goal was $25,000 to put toward mental health supports in the Prince George area. United Way is pleased to say that after extending the campaign into the New Year, the community of Prince George came together to raise an amazing $25,004!
“This is an unexpected and extraordinary way to finish out this incredible campaign! We cannot express our gratitude enough for the generous contributions made by so many people and organizations that made the Tree of Lights such a success. To have achieved our $25,000 goal speaks directly to the compassion and generosity of the people in Prince George.” Says Trista Spencer, Interim Executive Director, UWNBC. “The enthusiasm for this campaign was contagious, and the team at United Way had so much fun bringing this holiday beacon of hope to the community – we are already looking forward to doing it again!”
“The impact of these funds will far outweigh what we can measure…the impact of your support will be in places we cannot even see. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
The list of contributors to the campaign is long, but the Tree of Lights would not have been possible without the sponsorships and efforts of the following organizations: The Coast Prince George Hotel by APA, Brink Group of Companies, Warmac Ventures Ltd, Vista Radio, King Pine Contracting, Sterling Crane, PG Rentals Ltd, Royal Bank, and BC Northern Real Estate Board.
