Many families struggle to make ends meet on the best of days, and staring down the start of a school year can bring financial strains and stress that can cause parents and guardians to have to make choices between basic necessities and sending their child to school without the supplies they need to make the most of their educational experience. Through a partnership with Staples Canada and the giving spirit of the communities of Northern BC, the United Way of Northern BC’s Tools for School initiative seeks to close the gap on inequities and help children make the most of the school year ahead!

The Tools for School program provides the means to families to ensure their child has the supplies they need to start off the school year right. This year, between August 14, 2022, and September 11, 2022, people in Fort St. John, Prince George, Quesnel, and Terrace can make a donation at their local Staples location to help a child in need right in their community. Alternatively, anyone can make a contribution online by clicking here.
