Our efforts positively affect the lives of 1 in 3 individuals in northern British Columbia. 90 cents of every dollar donated is reinvested into programs and services helping your friends, relatives and neighbors throughout the region.

Extensive research
We do extensive research to understand the actual community needs and plan accordingly. We identify the root cause of the challenges that our community is facing and find ways to provide solutions.
Collaboration
We partner with donors, social service agencies, unions, governments and universities which help us in having a greater impact. This helps us in knowing where there is dire need and helps us in building strong strategies for community change.
Investment in key areas
We focus donor contributions on strategies in All that Kids Can Be, From Poverty to Possibility, and Healthy People/Strong Communities that change individual lives and benefit the entire community so everyone has the same opportunities to succeed.
Advocacy
We raise our voice against the issues prevailing in our community and make people understand the long lasting effects . We bring the community services sector together. We promote constructive relationships with policy makers, supporting solutions that improve people’s lives.
In 2021-22, United Way Northern BC supported: Over 130 local community agencies to impact the lives of more than 46,900 individuals.
