Coastal GasLink Pipeline will be making a generous donation of $100,000 to United Way of Northern BC’s COVID-19 Relief Fund. This donation will help UWNBC in its effort to support the constantly growing needs of so many including seniors in isolation, our homeless, those struggling with mental health and addictions, and those needing food support amidst the COVID-19 emergency.
“We are so grateful to receive this support from TC Energy & Coastal GasLink to help Northern BC communities at this critical time. The funds raised through COVID-19 Relief Fund will go directly to fulfilling the increasing needs of social service agencies and the clients they serve, with 100% of the donations going back to where they are needed most,” says Trista Spencer, Executive Director, UWNBC. “This incredibly generous donation will help us immensely in getting the much-needed support out as quickly as possible and speaks to their commitment to the areas they live and work in. It is partnerships like this that will bolster our efforts in coming together to make a very big difference while we get through this challenging time in our society”
“As healthcare professionals and first responders across North America work tirelessly to slow the spread of COVID-19, local charities are also under strain to support those most vulnerable during this unprecedented situation,” said Kiel Giddens, BC Public Affairs Manager for TC Energy & Coastal GasLink Pipeline. “We want to do our part to support our neighbours, colleagues, and friends in the communities we live and work in across Northern BC.”
The Coastal GasLink Pipeline Project is a subsidiary of TC Energy, and is currently under construction in Northern BC. The investment will be spread among communities across their entire project area from the Peace region to Kitimat and will be focused on non-profit organizations supporting several socio-economic challenges such as:
• Food security
• Poverty & social assistance
• Housing & homelessness
• Mental health & addictions
UWNBC’s COVID-19 Relief Fund will help to fight the above challenges and will help the most vulnerable in these unprecedented times.
Please help us make a difference!
