The tournament is receiving registrations for next year’s event on July 21, 2020. This year, tournament organizers were forced to put golfers on a waiting list, so early registrations are encouraged.
Since inception, the Commonwealth Cup has raised over $300,000 for local charities.
“This was another terrific year for the Commonwealth Cup. In addition to the great support we get from the Vancouver Canuck Alumni, we had a full roster of dedicated corporate sponsors that really came through. Thank you to everyone.” says tournament Chair, Dan McLaren, Commonwealth Financial
“We at HSJ Lawyers are very proud to have been, once again, the title sponsor for the Commonwealth Cup. Everyone had a lot of fun and it is fantastic that we were able to raise more than $40,000 for the United Way Northern BC who do a great job of providing assistance and resources to people in our community who really need it.”, says, Darren Lindsay, Managing Partner- HSJ Lawyers.
“We are overwhelmed at the amount of money that has been raised. It will go such a long way in helping us to support vulnerable people and dozens of organizations in the local community who need it most. We are extremely thankful to Commonwealth, HSJ, all the sponsors, individuals and businesses who donated their resources, time and talents to this event and of course, we appreciate all the golfers and auction bidders. I extend a heartfelt thank you on behalf of all the children, individuals and families whose lives are touched by United Way.”, says, Roberta Squire, former CEO, United Way Northern BC.
We are so honoured and grateful that United Way is the recipient of the proceeds from such a successful event! These funds provide us with the opportunity to make an immense impact to so many agencies and individuals in our community. From reading programs for children to helping seniors age at home, every donation has great meaning and an important destination. On behalf of the United Way of Northern BC team, thank you to Commonwealth Financial and HSJ Lawyers for choosing us as the charity of choice for the 12th Annual Commonwealth Cup!”, says, Trista Spencer, Interim Executive Director- United Way of Northern BC.
