On Thursday, 12 September 2019 The Oakroom Grill in Prince George became the first member of the new United Way of Northern BC (UWNBC) 365 Small Business Circle, a campaign for small, local businesses to be able to give back through just $1 a day.

“We are so excited to be launching the new 365 Small Business Circle across Northern BC! With this initiative we are answering the call for opportunities for smaller and local businesses to be able to give back in a very meaningful way in their communities. By joining the 365 Small Business Circle, individuals and organizations join a collective that are keen to support those that need it most right where they live and play. A heartfelt thank you goes to The Oakroom Grill for leading the way for Northern BC and being the first member to come on board!” says Trista Spencer, Interim Executive Director, UWNBC.

“I am so excited about The Oakroom Grill taking this first step and signing up. They will be spearheading this campaign and leading the way for others to follow. This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses to highlight their social responsibility and in return gain some valuable marketing through our social media platforms.” says Michele Brooke, Resource Development Officer, UWNBC.

“Prince George is a wonderful place to live, filled with many community minded individuals. We have been very appreciative of the support we’ve received over the years from the community and now it is our time to give back to the community. We can’t think of a better way than by supporting UWNBC. They are an umbrella organization that focuses on core social programming that targets community specific issues and supports programs to address those needs. We know our investment is in good hands. We encourage other businesses to show their philanthropy and follow suit. If we all stand together, we can make a big difference collectively. One dollar can make a difference to a person – it can provide one meal to a senior.” says Prashant Pandhi, General Manager, The Oakroom Grill.

Businesses that sign up for the 365 Small Business Circle will enjoy the following marketing opportunities:

• Receive a 365 window decal to display as well as rights to use the 365 logo.
• Listing and link on UWNBC website and annual report.
• Invitations to UWNBC campaign networking events and networking opportunities with other 365 members.
• Listing in UWNBC print materials and e-newsletters when featuring 365 Small Business Circle.
• Recognition through UWNBC social media platforms.
• Businesses that subscribe to leadership gifting ($600 or more) obtain feature recognition including a leadership logo and decal.

This is a win for your business, your employees, the people you serve, as well as the community at large – the place in which you live, work and raise your family.
