Jeanie Woltz

I was born and raised in Prince George, BC. After finishing third year at UNBC in Environmental and Community Planning, I had the opportunity to do research in Missouri in the summer of 2000. In 2006, I finished my degree in Human Services, which focused on social work, psychology, counseling, and human development. I have a passion for understanding human development, community planning, and the potential for individuals to thrive in their communities. In my more than 20 years of experience in research, advocacy and negotiation, I have worked with Departments of Mental Health and Education, advocated in government settings, led meetings, worked in case management, and negotiated for the rights of children with special needs. I’ve also collaborated with schools to develop plans for at-risk children and have been a Researcher and Lecturer at Sam Houston University in Texas.

I have always loved Northern British Columbia, and I am grateful to be back home. I have five grown children and two grandsons. I love to hike, watch sports, knit, and I am very enthusiastic about lifelong learning. I am looking forward to giving back to my community and experiencing all the north has to offer.

Please join us in welcoming Jeanie to the team!

We want to sincerely thank Kerry Pateman and Michele Brooke for all their passion and dedication toward this file over the past many years and wish them all the best in the future. Please note that Michele Brooke is continuing with United Way of Northern BC in her role as Resource Development Officer, North Central.
