United Way of Northern BC – Indigenous Early Years Table (Success x 6) and Prince George Early Years will honour Orange Shirt Day on September 27, 2018 in Prince George. (Original day is September 30th)
Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters is a grassroots event that acknowledges the harm that Canada’s residential school system had on generations of Indigenous families and their communities. The original day was September 30, but this year, Orange Shirt Day 2018 will be on September 27, 2018. Canadians are asked to wear orange as as sign of support.

United Way Northern BC- NE had their 8th Fire Truck Pull on September 15th, 2018!
The feature fundraising event had 10 teams competing to pull the Fire Truck. The Enbridge team won the prize for most funds raised as they brought in $8,397. Congrats!
Other awards included:
- Progress Energy won for “Fastest Pull in Heavy Weight” category
- Enbridge won another one for “Fastest Pull in Light Weight” category
- Just Jacks from Chances Casino won the prize for “Most Spirited Team”.
The fundraising event was very successful and raised a total of $67,594.00! This total means that the 8th FireTruck pull was the highest grossing pull in the history of United Way of Northern BC. Big huge thanks and congrats to everyone involved. A special thanks also goes out to Progress Energy. We were able to raise these funds with the enormous corporate donation from Progress Energy for $50,000!

It’s Enbridge’s United Way of Northern BC Campaign Week!
This September 4th, Enbridge kicked off their campaign week and was out early raising funds on the 5th handing out McDonald’s breakfasts by donation to help those most vulnerable in Fort St. John.
The Charlie Lake Office team has planned an entire week of fun events, that they call their United Way Olympics, in their efforts to make Fort St. John one of the healthiest communities in Northern BC. ‘The annual United Way Enbridge workplace campaign unites and engages our employees and contractors throughout NEBC and gives them an opportunity to participate, donate, volunteer, support and speak out for causes that matter to them within our local communities that we work and live in’, said Dean Freeman- Director, G& P Operation Enbridge.

Day 15 – Mackenzie
We had a fantastic first day in Mackenzie on the North East Portion of our #unitedtournbc2018! We started the day meeting with Anna Babluck of the Mackenzie Public Library where we support the Tweens Pro-D Day, the Pro-D Day Crafts for children 6 to 9 and numerous Success by 6 programs.
Later on we had the opportunity to meet with Honourable Mayor Pat Crook and CAO Dean McKinley to discuss the opportunities and gaps in the District of Mackenzie and then met with the fantastic folks at the Mackenzie Arts Centre! Amelia showed our amazing #Canfor sponsors where and who our dollars effect with their Spring Break Program for Youth.
