The United Way of Northern BC’s UNBC fundraising campaign officially launches
at noon on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the UNBC Wintergarden.
This year’s campaign has been spearheaded by a new UNBC committee –
Jacqueline Holler, Art Fredeen, Keith Egger and Taylor Bysouth – and runs until
November 2 with a number of activities.
The annual book sale is earmarked for Tuesday to Thursday, October 23 to 25,
from 10am to 2pm in the UNBC Wintergarden. Anyone passing by can make
donations towards books, CD’s, DVD’s and Games.
Taylor, a UNBC BComm student, is organizing the first ever student Halloween
Coin Drive on Wednesday, October 31 from 9am to 3pm. Students are able to
enter individually or as a team, dress up in their favourite costume or promote
There are Mr Mikes gift vouchers for the most money raised / best dressed.
Students can simply sign up on the day, collect a donation box and return it
when finished. They can jump start their moneybox by collecting from family,
friends, neighbours beforehand and putting it in the collection box when they
The United Way of Northern British Columbia is so excited about this year’s
campaign and invites everyone to take part. Funds raised in the community,
stay in the community; helps move individuals From Poverty to Possibility; builds
Healthy People, Strong Communities and helps kids develop into All that Kids
