Here we are freezing and the snow is flying. The 18 Wheel United Way Food Drive partnering with Rosenau Transport Ltd. down at the Dawson Creek Co-op for the Dawson Creek Salvation Army food hampers. Thank you to our amazing volunteers braving the elements and to all the donations of food.
United Way of Northern BC is a proud partner of 18 Wheels of Christmas, an initiative by the global transportation community to stock food banks across the country. This year we participated in events in Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, and Fort St. John, with all food donations going directly to each community’s local food bank.
The event in Dawson Creek was held on November 18 & 19 in the Co-op parking lot. Many volunteers braved the winter weather and filled the truck with a bed full of food and toys for the children and families who need just a little something extra to make this season merry and bright. 18 pallets of food, 4 skids of brand new quality toys as well as over $3,000 in cash were donated during this event.
